- An oboe Student of Carlo Besozzi and Court Chamber Musician in Berlin. A birth year of 1751 has been proposed, although, according to Bruce Haynes, this is too late considering the publication date of his oboe sonatas (1770). As with most composers of the Berlin school at this time, his compositions could be considered almost Baroque in style although he was composing well into the "classical" period.
