Miscellaneous information
- Little is known of his life. Domingo Prat wrote in his 'Diccionario de Guitarristas' that Schmölzl was a notable educator and the teacher of famous guitarist Eduard Bayer (1822-1908) in the year of 1840. But seeing the fact that he wrote many works many of which were published ( his op.1 was published in 1820, op.99 ca.1852 ), It may be supposed that he was not only an educator, but one of the most talented guitarists in Germany in the first half of 19th century.
