A French translator's house name is given but what exactly are they being given credit for?

Publication History

Except for the Chanson hébraïque, which was published separately in 1909, these song-settings were first published in a collection with harmonizations by three composers entitled Sept Chants Populaires by P. Jurgenson, Moscow, in 1910. The contents of that collection were:

Alexandre Georges (1850-1938), arranger
1. Chanson flamande (XV siècle)
2. Chanson écossaise (Burns)

Aleksandr Olenin (1865-1944), arranger
3. Chanson russe

Maurice Ravel (1875-1937), arranger
4. Chanson espagnole (Galicien)
5. Chanson française (Limousin)
6. Mélodie italienne (Romaine)
7. Chanson hébraïque

Durand issued the four Ravel settings separately in 1925.
