One assumes the title refers to Maximilian I of Mexico (1832–1867), not to earlier rulers of the same name from 3 centuries agone, and hence the composition date can also be fixed at 1867 (and indeed between June 1867, when the subject of the memorial died, and October, when notice appeared in BdlF of the composition.)
