Extra Information Attributed in a composer worklist to the year 1930, but a clipping he preserved contains a concert report (possibly of the premiere?) from 1923- see this blogpost e.g. Copyright note on Sibley score does not have date. From plate numbers (using Worldcat and other catalogs to obtain a quick list of Sassetti plate numbers...) given that the plate number of the score is 1256, this gives an estimate between 1922 and 1927, more likely near 1927 (the publishing date of Freitas Branco's 1911 string quartet, with plate 1309.) Branco's violin sonata (composed 1907?, plate 1296) and cello sonata were also published in 1927, by the way. Machado's 1921-published Prelude & Fugue has plate 1153; 1256 is closer (2/3rds the way).
