Extra Information | These movements are taken from a collection of 42 pieces by various composers compiled by Pisendel and his fellow copyists preserved in manuscript parts at Schrank II, Sächsische Landesbibliothek, Dresden (D-Dl Mus.2-N-13,10). It is unknown if these 6 movements are from pre-existing works (other works in the collection are from orchestral Suites by Telemann, Fasch and Schmidt) or if composed by Pisendel specifically to add to the collection. This repertoire was most likely played by the Dresden Orchestra between the acts of Operas. Here, they are given the numbers under which they appear in the part books. |
It would be nice, if someone has the time, to find which suites these are from and provide links.
