Born in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Moved to Cincinnati 1872, music director at St. Xavier Church (1885-1903, 1907-09) and St. Lawrence Church (1903-7), teacher at St. Xavier College, St. Joseph. Died in Eindhoven where he had gone for the water cure after a stroke. Buried in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cincinnati
