Studied at Kneller Hall Royal Military School of Music. 1901 Army Serjeant Major, Royal Artillery Mounted Band and organist at All Saints Garrison Church, Aldershot. 1903-1922 Bandmaster of the 1st Battalion, The King's Royal Rifle Corps. 1924 featured as conductor of the BBC Wireless Orchestra. Died in Durham, England, age 81.
