- Bio infomation (very brief, improvable?...) Per Catalog of Copyright Entries Musical compositions, Part 3, Volume 14, Issue 2 p.1665, several of his works were renewed "C.S. DeLano c/o Carl Fischer, New York, as the author, in renewal for 28 years" in 1919. Does that mean that the company was renewing them posthumously for the composer, or...? Also, opened a conservatory in Los Angeles California, and trademarked a “Kona” guitar?
Student of Joseph Kekuku (1874-1932).
The first name seems to be Charles. From John W. Troutman's Kika Kila: How the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Changed the Sound of Modern Music, p.134, there is a reference to a "Charles S. DeLano", "a former student of Kekuku who seems to have shipped some Knutsen steel guitars to Los Angeles when he opened a steel guitar teaching studio downtown." [footnote 30]
