presumably the son of Jean Claude Gillier. Possibly the same as a John Gillier who composed some catches c.1700 (though that could also conceivably be Jean Claude Gillier, to whom they are currently linked on IMSLP). The British Library attributes the sonatas to Peter Gillier, presumably the same who died in 1797.
