An obituary from September 19, 1933 in the New York Times ("Pay Articles Section") - description visible - gives his age as 82; another article, from the 1883 Musical Record, describes him as a famous Russian violin virtuoso. Assuming both are accurate. He seems also to have lived in the USA for quite a number of years (as of the 1880s or earlier).
