Brief death notice in The Musical Courier - on July 3, 1889, page 15, notes the death in Berlin "on the 27th ult." of Ernest Jonas, a talented cellist and "gifted as a composer as well as an instrumentalist". Student of Adrian François Servais (who died in 1866.) (Not to be confused with Émile Jonas, though both may have used E. instead of their full first names.)
