Miscellaneous information
- Sporadic composer/arranger: only some songs, a notturno for strings and an arrangement of a Lully suite could be found, all published by Emil Sommermeyer (Baden-Baden, Germany).
- Probably a close relative of Victor Lynen (1834-1894), a wealthy Belgian businessman with German roots, and patron of the arts, living in Antwerp: their family tree contains several "William"s, and Victor owned a villa in Baden-Baden.[1][2][3] His son Guilielmus-Victor Lynen (b. Antwerp, 18 June 1876) is a good candidate.[4]
- Traces:
- articles by William Lynen on Belgian music life, in La musique en Suisse (1903) [5][6]
- William Lynen traveling from Baden-Baden to Antwerp (1907) [7]
- William Lynen residing with Marie Koenemann (Victor Lynen's widow) in their Baden-Baden villa Albertowna (1914) [8]
