Teresa Oneto, daughter of a Genovese businessman, married the Neapolitan Benedetto Maglione (1841-92), of another well-known Ligurian family, in 1867 and moved to Naples.
She kept a salon in Naples which was frequented by artists such as Domenico Morelli, Eduardo Dalbono, Giovanni Bottesini and Giuseppe Martucci.
The portrait is by Domenico Morelli (1823-1901)
The Monteverde Angel (1882) by Giulio Monteverde (1837-1917) decorates the Oneto family tomb in Genoa.
