Children's author, not to be confused with the film address (1848–1943), nor the actress Gertrude "Toto" Norman (c.1880–1961), who was the companion of Marcia van Dresser. May or may not be the same Gertrude Norman who taught music at Vassar and (from 1941) Barnard, and who edited a book of letters by composers. Her career does not appear to extend beyond 1960.
