Born in Podolia (now Eastern Ukraine, then Galicia, Austrian Empire), studied violin and composition in Kiev and Leipzig (teachers Reger, D'Indy) 1912-1920 teacher in Russia (Jarosław and Kiev) 1921-32 in Toruń, 1932-58 lived in Równe (Rivne, now in Ukraine) and Warsaw. Most of his unpublished works were destroyed in the war.
