Born and educated in Vienna. Organist and teacher in Salzburg 1908-16, Linz 1916-21 and Basel 1921-52. Mainly sacred vocal compositions, up to Op.250, including a Mass In Fm, Op.172 pub by Breitkopf in the 1930s
Not to be confused with his contemporary, the publisher and politician Otto Rippel (1878-1957)
