Cellist. Faculty member of the first Indianapolis Conservatory, of the Metropolitan Conservatory, and finally of the Arthur Jordan Conservatory. Performed in the cello section at the world premiere of Richard Strauss' Death and Transfiguration. Son of the prominent Indianapolis musician Adolph H. Schellschmidt (born in Germany ca.1830; died May 3, 1915).
