He graduated from the Brussels Conservatory and in 1907 became conductor of the Wind Association of the Instrumental Circle in Brussels and of the Martinus Fanfare in Halle, which he conducted until 1946. From 1934 he was a member of the teaching staff at the Brussels Conservatory and director of the music academy in Nijvel.
