Belgian violinist, conductor, singing teacher and composer, born 1805 in Gent, died 1853 in Bordeaux. [1]
Active in Belgium and France, as pianist-accompanist and as theatre ochestra conductor in (i.a.) Antwerp, Liège, Rouen, Nantes and Bordeaux; also organizer of massive concerts. [2]
Not to be confused with his nephew and namesake Ferdinand Van den Heuvel (1837-1894) (bassoonist, composer en conductor), mainly active in Flanders only (Gent, Eeklo, Oudenaarde).
