G. Weingarten first appears as Gustavus Weingarden in the 1863 directory as a musician residing at 56 Crosby. From 1867/68 to 1879/80 he appears listed as a musician or teacher (and once as a printer) residing at 64 Rivington (up through 1873/74) and 122 2nd St. (1876/77 to 1879/80). In 1886 he appears as a professor residing at 125 East 103rd St. and in 1894 and 1896 as a musician residing at 1906 3rd Ave.
