Italian composer, born c. 1640 in Spello, dead 1685 in Loreto. According to his printed collection, dedicated to his nephew, Giacomo Rospigliosi, cardinal and poet, he was master of the chapel at S. Giacomo degli Spagnoli in Rome. 1684 he became master of the chapel at Santa Casa in Loreto. He may have been a nephew of Nicolò Stamegna.

- Not the -same- person as Stamegna, though? Spelling was easy-going in those days, could easily have been and they died in the same year in the same place. Is one certain that one was born around 1640 and the other around 1615? Eric 15:57, 12 August 2012 (EDT)
- In fact, OPAC-SBN / Italian National Library (Naples?) seems to assume they're the same person and files works by both under Stamegna. Eric 09:47, 24 January 2013 (EST)
