Cousineau was a Parisian publisher of the French Revolutionary period (1780-1820). It was founded by Georges Cousineau (1733-1800), father of a famous harpist. Across the street he founded a famous instrument shop, where the son (Jacques-Georges, 1760-1824 or 1836) soon joined his father. (Govea, "Nineteenth- and Twentieth-century Harpists: A Bio-critical Sourcebook", p.39; other sources.) It was possibly purchased by/succeeded by Lemoine around 1825.
Many of its publications were for harp: by Cousineau, Jacques-Georges (1760-1836), Krumpholtz, Jean-Baptiste (1747-1790), and a series by Boilly, Jean-François (17..-17..? ; abbé): L'Abeille lyrique ou Recueil périodique de petits airs arrangés pour la harpe et le forté piano avec ou sans accompagnement de violon composé de douze cahiers dont il en paraîtra un tous les mois. Other works were operas by for ex Mehul and Duni, and chamber works by Devienne, Haydn and Ditters von Dittersdorf .
