Navigation etc.

  • Instrumentation comes from this page, and is subject to correction if a full score ever becomes available. However, this page gives an opus number of 14, not 54. It is possible that 14 is for the opera, and 54 is for the later suite, but that cannot be confirmed without original scores to both works. Therefore, the opus number is also subject to correction. The vocal score of the whole work at Hathitrust also has op.54 and is described as incidental music, not an opera; it's "Music to (the play) Don Juan", not an opera "Don Juan". (Or it's also possible that he wrote an opera op.14 and incidental music op.54.)
  • A later Suite for orchestra was published by Jurgenson in 1901.
