Emil Sommermeyer of Baden-Baden, the famous Black Forest spa resort, operated during the resort's boom years from 1882 until after 1918. It was a small-volume business, publishing perhaps a dozen items per year.
Composers represented in Sommermeyer's catalog included: Cornelius Rübner, Carl Reinecke, Jacob Rosenhain, Algernon Ashton, and Maurice Moïse Wertheimer. Most of the works published by the firm were salon pieces and songs.
