Extra Information | Euangelion is a 7-movement piano sonata. It is Greek for Evangelism (ευαγγελίου). Each movement of this sonata uses a melody from a song that tells part of the Gospel. Not the story of the Gospel, but the message of the Gospel. I began composing the sonata in 1981 while I was a student at PBTS in Baguio, Philippines.
Each movement more or less uses the numbers 1, 3, 7, and 10 in rhythms, form, and intervals. Only movement 6 uses no numbers. |
