Misc. Notes

Appeared in an (the?) issue of "Aptommas’ Harp Journal". The month is not visible on the 7 pages, and of the "exercise and piece" advertised on the title page, only the exercise (with much seep-through, making some pages almost impossible to read in the LOC scan and perhaps in the source also?) can be found. The issue was received at the Library of Congress in October 1856. (Without some further investigation, cannot say definitely that this is an incomplete issue- no piece may have ever been included, and it may even have been the only issue also, or far from it; bears checking.)

The magazine, and presumably the original pieces therein, dedicated to his pupils.
Actually, it's not certain whether this is by Thomas or John Aptommas (John Thomas) on the identifying information alone ("Aptommas"). But in regards Aptommas' Harp Journal see also US-PRV. (Author: Aptommas, conservatoire de la harpe, New York.) See Description which claims that Thomas Aptommas chose the name Aptommas to avoid confusion with his brother John Thomas.
