Flute Quartet Nr. 1. Two movements: Garden III and K'isa - (1988)
1) Garden III: It is a minimalist work structured on the repetition of a note. Refers to an ephemeral and enigmatic landscape can be seen either from afar or enter their details. This image sets the tone for the musical structure in which the characteristic timbre of Andean flutes mixed with the ringing of the flute that brings melodic fragments of the Western tradition.
2). K'isa alludes to Andean textiles whose unique color strips together produce a resulting color is the sum of them all. By analogy, the music is constructed on the basis of the independence of each instrument, which remains fixed record and moves in a single pentatonic mode. It is a minimalist work static element which in this case is the texture.
