| Extra Information | George Hatzimihelakis' "Folkloric Acid II" for cymbel and string quartet was composed in 2009 and is dedicated to the cymbel soloist Angelina Tkatseva. It was performed for the first time with the +KINISIS quartet (2010) in Athens and Tinos, then by the Hellenic Group of Contemporary Music under the direction of Theodoros Antoniou at the MEGARON - Athens Concert Hall (2012) and on February 13, 2016 with the string quartet L' ANIMA at the Erateio Conservatory (from where the recording is) always with soloist Angelina Tkacheva. The piece belongs to a cycle of homonymous pieces where it explores the coupling of traditional and contemporary music, in areas such as timbre, resonances, phrases and form. |
