According to two WorldCat entries, this was for female choir. However, these were 2006 editions, and without an original to compare it to, the tagging is subject to change, should a first edition be uploaded.

This may be an excerpt from his (or a later work based on themes of Hiller?) incidental music to Die Madonna im Walde for voices, women's chorus, mixed chorus and orchestra (though RISM's text assignment to Margarete von Gottschall, who was 6 years old when Hiller died, seems not just "conjectural" but out there, unless the work is a parody in the old sense based on music by Hiller with new text.) -ELS
