Hebrew Publishing Co produced all kinds of items for the newly arrived Orthodox Jewish immigrants in New York who were fluent with Yiddish and Hebrew. The first company of this type was Rosenbaum & Werbelowsky, Inc., founded in 1883. In 1901 Joseph Werbelowsky and his son David started this firm. They published books and sheet music, and had a retail store.
Charles Lieber (1921–2016) bought the business in 1980.
Examples of their scores can be found on the Library of Congress page: Yiddish American popular sheet music
