M.Hesse published mainly vocal music, sacred and secular from 1881 into the 20th century. A typical example is Rudolph Palme's Allgemeines Liederbuch für deutsche Männerchöre (162 items, originally published by Siegismund & Volkening). Their most famous publication is probably the Musiklexikon by Hugo Riemann whose 1900 5th edition (and perhaps earlier and later editions) they published.
