This is a neo-classical horn concerto, not as difficult as and much more gentle for the soloist than the 1st horn concerto, but with enough possibilities for the soloist to show off. It has meanwhile been revised technically, and you see on IMSLP the last version. The 1st movement is gracious and moderately fast and in sonata form; as sometimes in the classic period the solist comes only in after the orchestral exposition, at 1’30". The 2nd movement is slow and built upon one theme, that is further developed. The final movement is very up-tempo and in a free sonata/rondo form; it contains a short cadenza (a new one from 2017).
