Misc. Notes Biblioteca Conservatorio S. Pietro a Majella Napoli . I-Nc Rari Cornicione 3-5. Does it say reproduced on 4 November 1776 for the Teatro San Carlo? (If so, the template above can be changed to MssD, where the default is that the date of the manuscript -is- known - see the documentation of the MssD template.) Could incorporate (translated back into Italian?) the revisions made for the 1774 London performance (though if Bremner's London publications are any indication, the overture here is the 1765 one.)

First performed 1765 Naples; also, performed 1774 in London. Instrumentations differ quite considerably in various copies? (See RISM links.)

In ca.1777 Bremner of London published "The favourite songs in the opera Creso", which may be the source of the Overture to Creso in piano reduction (digitized and uploaded by the Munich Digitization Center, and attributed to Bremner ca.1775(?), so depending on the accuracy of that date, possibly from a different publication of theirs) which, however, is not a piano reduction of the overture to the opera in the 1776 manuscript above. (Not just a matter of the key in one being B and in the other being D major; the works are different. Perhaps however Sacchini or someone composed a new overture for the 1774 London performance? ...Wikipedia does have "Revised for London in 1774".)
