Misc. Notes

This file is part of the Sibley Mirroring Project. The first edition from A.Z. Mathot originally comprised 2 volumes (pub. 1907), so presumably the additional 1921 copyright claim indicates a reissue, when the 2 volumes were split into 4. Note that Volume 3 in this edition contains the pieces listed for Volume 5 in the work info below. See comments below regarding volume numbering history.

Extra Information

Originally published in 1907 by A.Z. Mathot in 2 volumes of 12 pieces each. In 1920, Alphonse Leduc published Vol.3 with 6 pieces that were composed in 1911. Around 1921, possibly in response to Leduc's publication, Mathot split the original 2 volumes into 4 volumes of 6 pieces each, preserving the ordering of pieces. After Salabert acquired A.Z. Mathot in 1930, Salabert published a reissue of all volumes, and renamed its Vol.3 to Vol.5 to avoid a naming conflict with Leduc's Vol.3. On this page, the pieces are listed in original publication order and binned under the volume numbers used by Salabert and Alphonse Leduc. A later set of 6 pieces entitled Dernières nurseries is commonly referred to as the 6th volume.
