Performed in Verviers in December 27 1911 conducted by the composer according to a review of the concert in 'L'art moderne', 7 Janvier 1912 issue, p.6. However, an earlier (May 1911?) performance conducted by the dedicatee (or organized by the dedicatee and conducted by Marc Hambourg?) is mentioned here ("Au sixième concert Ysaye , sous la direction de Mengelberg, Marc Hambourg fit valoir son jeu puissant et fougueux. On y entendit pour la première fois : La Foret et l oiseau"...)
