Canzona for voice and piano with text by Gabriele Rossetti, ca. 1826. In La rimembranza, Coccia finds drama in so simple an event as someone gazing at a pretty girl near a quiet stream. The song begins tranquilly enough, but when the girl notices her admirer and blushes, the music becomes agitated and moves unexpectedly to another key. The second stanza follows a similar pattern, with more active music mirroring the expressions of love that the admirer imagines hearing from the stream.
