Cantata for four voices, chorus and orchestra, commissioned as part of the celebrations following the wedding of Maria Antonia Ferdinanda of Spain to Vittorio Amedeo of Piedmont and Sardinia. It was performed in the form of a three-act opera in the Teatro Regio where it enjoyed a run of more than 20 performances. The autograph manuscript is preserved in the British Library; several pieces from the work are extant in various aria collections of the time. - G. F. Handel made some borrowings from this cantata/opera for his last oratorio "Jephtha".
