One of many works commissioned and recorded (in their First Edition series of LPs, though not all works there are premieres or Louisville commissions (e.g. their recording of Julius Rietz's concert overture, written quite some while before the series began, though that was a first recording), nor claimed to be- though usually at least first American recordings) by the Louisville Orchestra (recorded in this case in 1955).
