Movements/SectionsMov'ts/Sec's 74 (72/71/70) items
  • Pietro Paolo Raymondo [Comascho?, from Como/Italy], the owner and copyist of the (most) pieces dated the manuscript with "1601 di pᵒ Luglio" (1st July 1601).
  • Most of these 74 items (or 72, if Gagliarda, f.30r + L'istesso in contraponto, f.31r respectively Toccata, f.34v + Seguita la Fuga, f.35r are summed up; or 71 if Toccata con una fuga, f.16v + untitled, f.17v are summarized; or just 70 if it is agreed that Francesco da Milano's Fuga at f.80v ends with the untitled item at f.74r as Steur/Lutz [properly] consider) will be from Anonymous, but there are several pieces (sometimes with an uncertainty) from more or less well known composers.
  • Italian lute tablature
  • Brandle = Branle, Franciese = Francese, Toccatta = Toccata
  • Twice a "Gagliarda" was crossed out and changed into "Corrente" (f.11v and f.23v)
  • Looking over the concordances shows that the given titles are sometimes unsure and arbitrary. Just a few alternatives are added here. Some composers/arrangers are questionable. Have a look at:
  • Concordances: Peter Steur and Markus Lutz ; Tom Van Eygen, Belgian Lute Academy
