Extra Information 1854 from publication cover; composer wrote "écrits probablements à 17 ans" on the manuscript (suggesting 1852 or 1853) but was not more specific, according to Teller-Ratner, who gives October 1913 for publication of score and parts of the overture. (An incomplete duet, presumably for somewhere in the opera, was also begun right after the overture on the manuscript.)
