When the new eleventh edition of Folkehøjskolens Sangbog – the Folk High School Song (Text) Book – was published, it was agreed that there was a need for a more extensive supplement to the existing edition of the music published in the first two editions of Folkehøjskolens Melodibog (melody books of 1922 and c. 1923). The supplement was published in summer 1927 with eighteen songs by Nielsen. Of these, six were published for the first time.

The attribution of no.8 to "L.C. Nielsen" in some sources suggests text by Ludolf Carl Nielsen (Carl Ludolf Nielsen- composer Ludolf Nielsen) but this apparently is not the case.
