Extra Information | *Grove Music lists this as being equally with orchestra and piano accompaniment, although Liebst du um Schönheit was composed with piano accompaniment, and orchestrated by Max Puttmann (1863-1935) after Mahler's death (1912). Though often performed as a cycle today, Mahler composed other songs to Rückert texts and might not have intended these 5 songs to be a cycle. The Sieben Lieder aus letzter Zeit were issued separately at first. Orchestration and order of the individual songs |
