Navigation etc.

  • Composed for Schola Cantorum congres
  • The trumpets start out with a key signature of one flat, which puts them on A trumpet, but with no marking to change, page 2 of the score specifies D trumpet, and the key signature changes accordingly. At this point, the horn parts drop out and third and fourth clarinet parts in A appear, and then underneath the trumpet parts. It is likely that from page 2, what is designated as D trumpet is actually the D horn parts, and the 3rd and 4th clarinet parts are actually trumpet 1 and 2 in A.
  • Original full orchestral score was published in 1908: Publication noted in the Bibliographie de la France 2e série, 97e année, Nº2, 10 Janvier 1908, p.30, r.263.
