Navigation etc.
Quartet in D major, unknown opus. Typeset headers claim this is the D minor quartet Op.2 No.3, but the key is clearly D major and the movement headers don't match with those for Op.2 No.3 in SMH.
(Kristerp: I try to upload the poor scan from micro film, that I have used as a source. The originals reside in what was called Music Library of the (Stockholm) Royal Academy of Music.
The autograph scan is from page 71 to 99 from a book with the manuscripts of the three quartets of op. 2. Title on front cover page ("Trois Quartettes par Mr Joachim Georg Nicolo Eggert. Partition", this page is submitted after the very notes in the scan submitted here. (Quartet no 1 on pages 1-36, no 2 on pages 37-69, page 1 has a stamp in the upper right corner"KONGL. MUSIK. AKADEMIEN"). There are three string quartets in opus 2, and I agree that D major may be a good description, even if it starts out in D minor. Anyway, the editors of IMSLP may do what they please with my (des-)information.)
- Appreciated. It is confusing, in all. - ES
