According to Die Redenden Künste: Leipziger Konzertsaal : Zeitschrift für Musik (Heft 20, 13 Feb. 1896 issue?) there was a performance of the symphony in the 28 January 1896, Leipzig Hauptprüfung a. Konigliche Konservatorium d. Musik. May have been a performance in February 1895 of course.
Orchestration from "Orchestral Music: A Handbook", page 307.
Could use a full score upload ? 3rd movement in the reduced score has "Allegro molto ( = 116)" rather than Allegro vivace, which may have to do with the reduction, or may be a typo in a source.
