Premiered in a concert that also contained Strauss' Tod und Verklärung, a suite by JS Bach, and the first performance of Max Marschalk's (1863–1940) Serenade Op.30 of 1909. (Signale für die musikalische Welt, volume 69, 1911, page 193.) Both marked in the concert announcement with "zum ersten Male."
