Extra Information
|
Also arranged for piano 4 hands by Tchaikovsky, 1893 It has become tradition in this Symphony for the 2nd clarinet to double on bass clarinet and play 4 notes for the bassoon, at a point where the bassoon takes over a descending line from the clarinet. Apart from the fact that the "hand over" is smoother when the timbres match, the passage goes to pppppp, which is easier on bass clarinet than on bassoon.
