Navigation etc.
4 numbered non-programmatic David symphonies: in F, 2 in E-flat, and one in C minor (1837, 1838, 1846, 1849.) Symphony no.3 in E-flat (1846) has been recorded.
Azevedo's book dates this work to 1859 (assuming the author is progressing chronologically), though one movement was published earlier. However, Léon Kreutzer, in the Revue contemporaine of 1853 (book 6, p.149 et seq.), describes what may have been the premiere (or an early performance, anyway) of the work, given 15 Feb. 1853 by the Société Saint-Cécile.
