"From the French of Queen Hortense, (possibly Hortense Eugénie Cécile Bonaparte, 1783–1837 ?) translated by Sir Walter Scott". - the text is apparently more often attributed to Sir Walter Scott (dated 1815) though he may have attributed it to Queen Hortense (see also for example Ossian.) (However, Hortense is described @ Wikipedia as having been an accomplished amateur composer.)
